Has completed or will complete any required trainings within six months of employment with AMHC and maintain any state training requirements. A graduate degree from a fully accredited college or university that will allow for licensure in Kansas as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP). Therapists who are either licensed in Kansas or can be licensed in the State as LSCSWs or LMLPs are preferred.

In addition, candidates with experience in substance abuse, working with the Juvenile Justice Population, inpatient programs, or in-home therapy are highly desirable. Bilingual (Spanish and English) skills are also a plus.

Must be licensable by the Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board (BSRB) as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP). Must meet the certification requirement set by the credentials committee of the Association of Community Mental Health Centers in Kansas and the Mental Health Consortium, Inc. Minimum Qualifications:

The Parent Support Specialist (PSS) will have a working understanding of the dynamics and needs of families with SED children or adolescents. Preference will be given to individuals who have experience caring for children, adolescents, or family members with SED and/or other disabilities. Experience in providing direct services is preferred. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Familiarity with schools and other community resources is desirable. The PSS will possess good interpersonal skills and an investment in working with families of SED children or adolescents.

Applicants must have completed a CAN program and be listed on the KS state registry. One to two years position-related work experience and completion of a Certified Medication Aide is preferred. Must have CPR/First Aide and CPI training completed within 30 days of hire. Excellent communication, telephone, organizational, and interpersonal skills are required. Able to work as a member of a treatment team in providing continuum of services to consumers and their families.

DC-CSS

A BA/BS degree with an emphasis in mental health/human services or equivalent experience. This position requires drug and alcohol certification. Staff member shall possess demonstrated interpersonal skills, ability to work with the mentally ill and co-occurring disorders, ability to respond effectively in a wide variety of human service situations. Experience working with persons diagnosed with a Severe and Persistent Mental Illness is preferred. Must have a current and valid Kansas driver’s license. Must successfully complete Case Management certification as stipulated by the State of Kansas within six months of employment and maintain Case Management Certification thereafter. Must maintain drug and alcohol certification.

The primary function of the TLC Coordinator/Case Manager is management of the TLC (Supervise assigned staff, scheduling and assuring all shifts are covered.), to assess and teach independent living skills, provide case management services, and Psychosocial Rehabilitation programming for persons diagnosed with a Severe and Persistent Mental Illness. Candidates must also possess a BA/BS degree with an emphasis in mental health/human services or equivalent experience and have a current and valid Kansas driver’s license. Experience in residential rehabilitation facility preferred, but will train the right individual.

Psychosocial Group Coordinator

The Psychosocial Group Coordinator will have a minimum of a bachelor degree in a related mental health field or human services field or be equivalently qualified by work experience or a combination of work experience in the human services field and education with one year experience substituting for one year of education. Psychosocial Group Coordinator will have an interest and investment in working with SED children, adolescents and their families. Must be 21 years of age.

Adult Case Manager

The person we are looking for will be highly motivated and enjoy working with persons diagnosed with a Severe and Persistent Mental Illness. The case manager will work with consumers to teach them the skills that are necessary to live independently in the community- cooking, laundry, budgeting, grocery shopping, symptom management, applying for benefits, etc. Candidates must also possess a BA/BS degree with an emphasis in mental health/human services or equivalent experience and have a current and valid Kansas driver’s license.
